Weekend in Ft Worth

We are in Ft Worth right now for the last TTHA show. Halli is napping and I actually have a minute to catch up on emails, etc ( no internet at home yet). Here are some pics of what has been going on lately.

I might mention that when we got here yesterday I went to brush my teeth and lo and behold...Staci's bags are no where to be found. Nice. So, now we have 4 days in Ft Worth and no makeup, no clothes, and perhaps most importantly no Chi. Hal says I look like a homeless child when all I do is blow dry my hair b/c it turns into a fro. However, this hotel apparently doesn't believe in the cheap hair dryer that attaches to the wall, so I suppose I'll be purchasing a new dryer too. Ugh. When Halli wakes up we are going to Target and Ross. Don't worry though, Hal and Halli have all of their needed things here. I suppose that is what happens in Mommyhood. You are so busy taking care of everyone else, you forget about yourself. But that is ok, I love being a mommy and a wife. It's all about sacrifice, right? So my bags are nice and packed waiting for me at home. And Target is waiting for me to spend money (that I should be spending on our new house).

Jenn, Bree and I are going to see Erin, Jason, Lo and meet Baby Luke tomorrow. I am sooo excited to finally see him. I can't wait to hold that sweet little baby boy. Some days I am ready for another, and some days I want to pull my hair out. But there is nothing more precious and innocent than a baby. They melt your heart.

We are slowly but surely getting settled. My Aunt Debbie, Uncle Don and Grandma came up on Monday to help get settled. My Aunt pretty much unpacked all my boxes! And poor Uncle Don broke them all down...and don't forget they brought lunch. Seeing as how there was to be no cooking going on. They were a HUGE help in getting all the boxes out. Gram and Uncle Don manned Halli, sometimes it takes two, sometimes it takes three!

The new back yard. Everyday about 5:00 the deer come in and hang out in our backyard. I think there were about 15 this day. So cool. About 5 little fawns (although I found one that had been run over right outside our drive way-I did not do it!). Two bucks and a bunch of does. Hal, of course thinks it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. I have to admit though, I like it too.

While packing all the JUNK in our house, I came across these photos from Hal back in his college football days. Seriously, his neck was as big as my thigh.

I STILL don't know why these pictures don't turn the correct way. It drives me nuts. Here is Halli and her little tweety bird head... I love it. She has the big ol' noggin on a teeny tiny neck. Adorable. She loves to "drive," we were about to go for a swim.

She is all dressed up in her blue dress and bonnet her great grandma made her. SO adorable. My granny is the best...she gets a new dress about once a month, sometimes twice a month. So sweet.

And...it's a good thing Hal doesn't read the blog. I'm pretty sure he would freak out about the waxing picture. My girlfriend brought over her waxing kit. Let's just say ouch. But I thought Hal should give it a try, and for some reason he obliged (sp). Poor guy...there was even blood.

Our Life Story...

One of my favorite quotes is "You are the author of your own life story..." How true is that???? So, here is a brief glimpse into our life story. It's not always super exciting (actually-it is pretty exciting), but it's always blessed...

About Me

Really, it's not about me, it's about us...We've almost been married two years now!!!! I can't believe it. I think I can honestly say it's been the best two years of my life. Who knew marriage could be so wonderful? I sure didn't. I have the most wonderful husband on the entire planet. Although, I'm sure some of my friends would argue that their husband is the best...But you know, if you marry your God Given Soul Mate-I'll let you have that one. Yours is the most wonderful man for you!!! And to all my girlfriends who have married that man, I am SO happy for you because you know how great marriage can be. And if you haven't found him yet, don't give up. Just be patient...He is out there somewhere, just waiting for the perfect time to come into your life. I can't imagine that it's going to get any better...I suppose just "different" yet awesome, once our baby gets here. I am thankful each day for all God has given us...
